ZERO Corporation, acquired in June 2008 by Protostar partners is comprised of ZERO Manufacturing, Inc. and ZERO Cases (UK) Ltd.
Protostar Partners was founded in 2001 and is based in New York City. Protostar is an operationally focused private equity firm that invests in middle-market industrial and consumer goods companies. Protostar’s principals have cumulatively managed over $750 million of committed capital and have invested in over 50 companies.
ZERO Manufacturing, Inc.
ZERO Manufacturing, Inc. is 300,000 square foot facility located in North Salt Lake, Utah, USA. Since
its beginnings in the 1950's ZERO has been a world supplier of protective cases and enclosures. ZERO's
specialties include quality, deep-drawn and fabricated aluminum and molded plastic cases, enclosures
and assemblies for the aerospace, industrial, medical, electronics and telecommunications markets.
ZERO's real product is protection – ensuring the safe transport and viability of valuable equipment
and electronics - without compromise. ZERO provides solutions through a standard product line, or
the ability to customize any existing product or engineer and manufacture any protective solution from
scratch.
ZERO Cases (UK) Ltd.
ZERO Cases (UK) Ltd is a 25,000 square foot facility located in West Midlands, England. In 1983, ZERO Corporation bought Samuel Groves + Co. Ltd., one of the oldest manufacturing companies in Birmingham England and producer of deep drawn aluminum and stainless steel products. By 1990, European distribution was reorganized and some products redesigned allowing ZERO to adapt its UK division to the unique needs and expectations of European customers. Now, in addition to distributing products made by ZERO in the USA, ZERO Cases (UK) Ltd. produces a wide range of deep drawn aluminum cases and multiple non-case applications specifically designed for the demands of the European market.
ZERO Halliburton
ZERO Manufacturing Inc., is also the manufacturer of the world renowned ZERO Halliburton line of aluminum luggage.
Since the 1930s, ZERO Halliburton has specialized in stylish aluminum cases with a classic design using compound curves, horizontal lines and simple arcs. These design elements, combined with the use of premium materials, make up the ZERO Halliburton "Brand DNA" the essence that inspires the brand's unique look and appeal.
